My space suit

This is my space suit I made for a wearable art. It has the milky way, the planets, comets and a screen to show a person landing on the moon. It was hard to draw it but I did it and I think it looks good.

The Tiny Dragon

As I stretched out on the warm grass, I felt a tickle on my fingertips. I looked at my finger and there was a scary, scaly, mini dragon. I tried talking to it but all it said was roar with a little baby voice. It had green spots on it’s nose and fire was smoke out of its nostrils. Its wings were thin like a feather. It was smooth like cream on your skin. The dragon’s claws where tickling me. It was curling around me with it’s tail and it’s scaly skin was shining in the sun. The dragon looked like it was about to breath fire so I moved out of the way and there was fire coming out of his mouth. Quickly I took him to my room to see if he could do more things but he went to sleep. I was thinking to myself that this was a lazy dragon. When he woke up he started flying, “cool” I said then he went outside. He looked bigger when he was outside. “When you sleep you grow” I said “roar” the dragon said. He looked thirsty so I got him some water and some meat to eat and drink. When the dragon finished eating it was climbing up the tree then it started sleeping. 10 minutes later in a flash he fell down the tree but he fell on my leg. I heard him getting angry then he burnt the tree and it turned into dust in seconds.

Film Festival

Today room 7 went to the maniakalani film festival. When we where sitting down tamaki college introduced the film festival by making a movie telling us what is maniakalani is and what they do for us like paying for our Chromebooks. The movie I liked is mastercheff from tamaki collage. It is the semi finals and the teams where peppering there dish for the judges. The first team had pancakes with strawberry topping. The second team had cake and raw eggs. The third team had strawberry tart. The judges said that the people who made the tart wins and the person with cake and raw eggs lost and went home. The funny part for me was when when the guy went home he was so angry that he picked up the pizza box and through it to the wall and stomped out.

Pentominoes Maths John & Sylis

Yesterday we started a Maths activity called pentomimes. When it started it looked kind of easy,but when you actually do it, it is kind of hard. You need to make  all of the pieces fit together. You need to put it on the grid so you can start and try to make the shapes all fit on the grid. I thought it was hard because I could't put the pieces all fit on the grid without any gaps. This is what it looked like when we finished.

Holiday Poem

Going to the pools poem.

It the holidays I went to the pools

I liked it because it was very cool

and every time I went down the slide

I went so fast that I screamed and dried.

At home I forgot my goggles

then my mum said “it’s time for McDonald's.”

And I jumped off the diving board

I felt like a jumping lord

When it was time to go

I was so cold I looked like snow.

At home my big cat was growling

It sounded like a wolf was howling.

At the end of the day
I felt like saying hooray.

Term 3 reflection

This is my term 3 reflection about my term. The things I don't like and the things I like.

Cultural festival

Yesterday room 7 went to see the junior schools cultural festival. When we where seated the drummers introduced the classes by drumming. The classes then walked in and sat down ready for the performance. Then all the classes stood up and sang Pacific unity. At the end all the people clapped loud. Then it was time for the classes to perform. The dance group started with there cool performance then room 1, 2, 3 then 4. The best dance was the dance group. I liked it because it was from South Africa and they performed it well. All the other classes where good but the dance group was the best for me. At the end they sang pacific unity again and then Mr Johnston said a few words and then he let us go back to our class to get on with our work for the day.

Kiwi Kids Quiz

Today on kiwi kids quiz I scored 100% on the quiz. I learnt that a bugler broke in to a house and fell asleep on the bed while he was stealing. A cleaner found him sleeping with a bag of things beside him and called the police.  

Tongan language Week.

This week is Tongan language week. Room 7 will be learning how to speak in Tongan.

Theme Park.

On Wednesday We made our own theme park. First we worked on the front cover and then we made up the costs for the rides and food. I really needed to think because I don't know what the prices are. Then we came up with a map and drew it. After you needed to make the back interesting for the people to look at. It was really fun making this I enjoyed making this. I felt cool that I completed it.

This week on kiwi kids news I got 100%. I learnt that the Maori king is in hospital because he has diabetes.

This is my Auckland Museum Trip slide about what I learnt.

Netball

Merrin, our netball coach, taught us about lots of netball skills like defending and attaching. The first time room 7 went we played gladiators. You have to try get past the gladiators and when you get to the end the next person trys to get to the end then we swap over. Our last session we played a game of netball It was tough to get a goal but the white team managed to get a goal and win. My favorite out of all the sessions was when we played a game of netball I was In the black team and we lost all our games but we had alot of fun.

Auckland Museum

Museum trip

On Monday room 7 went to the Museum to learn about migration and why people move to one place to another. They might have to move to another country because there is a war or better opportunity's for educations  

After that we went to learn Polynesians and the other nesians I learnt that we came from east Asia and Polynesians are a mix of black and white people.

Then we had to drill a hole in a piece of wood to practice building a waka then we had a drilling contest and group 2 won all of the contests.

Then It was lunch and after lunch we got to go were ever we want around the Museum.

 We went to the volcano room first. I liked how the room shaked. Then we went back in time to Auckland in 1866. I saw Old bars and rooms back in the day. I walked into the pole when I was Walking to the bar. My favorite out of all is the volcano room.

If I could leave the country I would got to the go to Australia because my dad is at the gold coast and I haven't seen him in long. It is also more fun because there is more theme parks like Dreamworld, Sea world and wet,n,wild. If I go I will meet new friends and learn how thing go in Australia.

It was a scary night and all my friends were at my house to sleep, and in the lounge it was cold. We were sleeping on the couch. Then we woke up. “It is scary at your house” said Latham. “I want to go home” said Cyrus. “It is ok you need to stay calm” I said just then we heard scary music. “Tiptoe through your window” the music said. Footsteps began to walk down the stairs then we saw a big black shadow that had a knife in its hand. “Is that a fake knife” I said “Ok Ok you got me I am sylis’ dad”. “I knew it was you dad I am going to tell on mum” I said. “Sorry please don’t tell mum” said dad. “Ok but you need to get up early and make us breakfast” I said. Dad said “ok ok anything”. The next morning my dad made pancakes for us. It was delicious. “Can I stay over again please” everyone said. “Ok but you need to watch out for my dad again”. “

Hahahaha” I said in a scary voice. Jokes.

Duffy Theater.

Today Duffy theater came to our school to talk to us and do a play. They came to talk to us about don't stop reading. The people were Duffy, Uncle Bingo and Rosie. It was about Uncle Bingo he didn't like to read but Duffy and Rosie helped Uncle Bingo to read every day. Duffy was wearing a Tee-shirt that had a D on it and he had a cape with all his books on it. Uncle Bingo was wearing a blue tee shirt. Rosie was wearing a skirt. My Favorite part was when Uncle Bingo Broke his leg and was playing the DJ with the books.

My Wonderful Day

My Wonderful Day.

On the last day of the holidays It was my birthday. When I woke up that morning I felt like a tired dog but I knew I needed to wake up. I woke up Daniel and we got changed and we went to play outside. When we went outside it was cold but we didn't care so we played soccer practice for the whole afternoon. After we practice we had a real game when Daniel kicked the ball to me I kicked it back and it hit his face he was sad but I said sorry and we went inside for a drink of water. Just then my mum said she was making lunch so we went to the lounge to watch t.v. Then I heard a knock on the door it was my family with the pizza. When I saw the pizza I was so happy I got half of the pizza and sat in the lounge. Then my cousin came over. He missed out on pizza. “Lets have cake now”said my mum we all shouted “yes!.” Then my family sang happy birthday to me. I sang it to my self and then I made a wish and blow out the candle. I cut the cake and I got the first piece. I went outside to eat my cake and then everyone else came outside to eat cake with me. It tasted better than my mums  cake. It was made by my aunty. After we ate our cake we went to play basketball. It was Daniel vs me. I tried to get the ball in the hoop but I couldn't So I went inside to have more cake but it was all gone. By then it was 4.30 and everyone was going home and sleeping so I went to sleep as well. It was a fun day for me.

My Art Reflection

The last 2 week room 7 did a panting called landscape. We were inspired by a painter called Ton Schulten. We mostly did color mixing. The colours I used is blue, yellow, red, black and white. I needed to mix the colours to get my colour that I need. I needed brown, blue, white and grey and I made different shades of the colours. How to make brown is blue, yellow and red. How to make grey is black and white.

 

Term 2 Reflection.

This past 9 weeks we have been doing lots of hard work.

For writing we have been doing how to elaboate and taking some risks with some hard word we don't no. Elaborate means to add detail. What I like about elaborating is you have a piece of writing and you go back to make your writing better. We use the riskometer to see who is the best at taking a risk. The thing I like about the riskometer is you can see if you are not scared to take a risk.

In reading I like to read eBooks and find information in books. What I like about eBooks is it is a different way to read books and it is online. I also like to read books to find information that I need to get my work done.

In art we have been doing color mixing and landscapes. I like the color mixing because you mix the colors together to make a different color. The thing I like about landscapes is you have to make a different shades of the colors.

This term was a great term. I know next term I will learn more. Thank you Mrs miller for teaching us and helping us learn.
