Olympic Art

Today I finished my Olympic Art. Our focus of this task was about sportsmanship. Our challenge was  to work as a team, collaborate and using our strengths to help each other. We used pastel, Black PVA and Athlete silhouettes. First I found the silhouette I wanted to use. Then I put on a art shirt and used pastel. After that I smudged the edges to make it look cool. After that I used black PVA on my lines to make it stand out. Next I had to let it dry for the day. After that I put my athlete silhouette on my paper when it dried. here is a photo of my design

Warriors

Today at Panmure Bridge School, Ryan Hoffman, John Palavi and Georgia from the warriors and Alice from DTR came and talked to the school about health and well-being. First we were split up into two groups, Georgia Then showed the school some questions. Both teams had a chant. Ryan's teams chant was Hoffy and John's teams chant was Jp. If your team was the loudest then your team leader chose someone to answer and if you got the question right you won a bottle. My friend Latham luckily won a prize. After that we leant a bit about sleeping. People also won prizes. Next we learnt about Hydration. We had some questions about when drinking water is best. I liked how they gave out prizes.

Current Events

This is my current events task I have completed today. I had to research about Nikki Hamblin and Abbey D'agostino, They both triped up and they helped each other up. The purpose of this task was to learn about sportsmanship and fair play. I think this is an excellent example of sportsmanship and this will have a big impact on Olympians and the world. People can look up to this and do the same with friends.

Olympic Venues

We have been learning to consider both sides of a provocation so that we can make an informed opinion. Mrs Anderson asked us to create a DLO about Olympic venues. Mrs Anderson showed us some abandon olympic venues then told us to think, should hosting countries spend so much money on something there gonna leave to rot. To make our informed opinion we had to think about both sides to this and then make our opinion. My DLO shows a Olympic venue when it was first created then the Olympic venue now. At the bottom is the point of views that I thought about then there is my opinion.

I played a maths game called hit the button. You can practice your doubles, halves, times tables and Division. If you want to play hit the button click Here. It is a fun way to learn your doubles and halves.

Current Events

This is my current events I have completed today. I have read a article and watched a video about the big sleep out. The big sleep out is when people meet up and sleep outside to raise money and awareness of homeless people in Auckland.

Run Jump Throw

Today LS2 went to Run, Jump Throw. First we played a warm up game of Octopus. Then Andy asked what we learnt last week. After that we talked about how we could improve our speed. We could improve our speed by looking forward, Cheek to cheek (your hand by your cheek then to your but cheek) and high knees. The class worked on sprinting today. We also worked on starting and reaction times. When Andy said on your marks we went up to the yellow line. If your toes are over the line then you are disqualified. When Andy says Set, your heels are off the floor. Then the gun or clap goes, you can start running.

Hover Bike

This is my Hover bike Poster I made with Gozan. For this task I had to create an advertisement on a hover bike. Gozan and I have came up with this. The persuasive language in this Ad is make your friends feel envy Buy it Ride It Hover It. I think this task was a bit hard because we didn't agree with some stuff. The purpose of this task was to sell a product.

Olympic Logo

For this task I had to make a Olympic logo for New Zealand. The Circle represents the earth coming together and having a good time. The Picture of the silver fern represents something native to NZ. The colours on the Olympic rings represent the flags of all the world. I put the title black because New Zealand like the all blacks. This is my Olympic logo for NZ.
