Its great to be me because I have a lot of positive qualities that make who I am for example, I am thoughtful towards other people. I have created a Tagul with words that describe why its great to be young (11 - 13). I was working with Te Wai, Fraidoon and Freeman. We did this because we were learning to strengthen our ability to make positive choice. First we made a list of words of why it is good to be young. When we finished we transferred our words onto a word cloud.
I am a Year8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick.

Tech At Tamaki College
Today at tech we have completed our clocks and are starting a new rotation next week. The design that I chose for my clock is a basketball. First we had to finish painting our clocks and the side of our side pieces. Next we glued our pieces together. Then Mrs Ferguson and Mrs Anderson put the clock mechanisms inside our clocks. We then let the glue dry.

Reciprocal Reading Task
In Reading today we have had a session with one of the reciprocal reading experts, and his name is Fraidoon. On our DLO we have the words people in our group can't define, things we need to work on and things we did with success. To do Reciprocal Reading we need to collaborate and take risks to be the leader. I had fun doing this and it was great to work with people who engaged in the learning as much as I did.

Careers DLO - Game Developers
This week we have been exploring careers. This gives us a good idea of what we want to be in the future. I completed a test that would tell me some careers i'm interested in and one of those results was to be a game developer. I have created a DLO about game developers. This is a career that I would be interested in because I like playing video games on the computer, console and mobile phones.

Flex-tangle Math
This is my flex tangle that I made. We did this because this week is maths week. LS2 started doing this on Monday. The next thing that we are creating is a hexaflexagon. I learnt how to score with scissors. One thing that I like about this flex tangle is that you could create the designs.

Kate Sheppard Sketchnote
For this task we had to create a sketch note. We had questions that we had to answer. The learning conversation that I had with my group helped me complete this because I was stuck on a question and talking to my group helped me get ideas.
Galloping Greyhounds
For this task we had to make a DLO about a question that we solved for maths. Ofa and I completed this task. The task was about greyhounds and money. We had to solve how much money would a trainer make if there greyhound came first, second and third. We had clues from the photo and that helped us a lot.

Kate Sheppard DLO
For this task we had questions that we had to answer. I worked with Tiava, Mataio and Jeremiah to complete this DLO. It is about Kate Sheppard and the suffrage movement. We had to do a lot of talking to get this done because everyone had to know what they were doing. Talking helped us get this finished because we had to talk to see if it makes sense.
T3 Production Practice
Today we have been practising our dance for the end of term 3. Zoe came in on Tuesday and taught us dance. Mrs Anderson recorded us doing the dance. Today we looked back and saw what we needed to improve. This learning is called rewindable learning. Rewindable learning is watching yourself do something and checking what you need to improve. My groups song is Staying Alive by the Bee Gees. All the groups practised there dance then presented it to the class. It was really fun to see what the other groups have been doing.

Writing Challenge - Idiom
For this task I had to make a list of Idiom examples. An Idiom is a figurative speech that is not meant to be taken seriously. The first thing we did was find out what idiom meant. Then when we finished the list we had to chose an idiom to illustrate. I chose to illustrate try your best.

During the winter holiday I participated in the winter learning journey. Rachel came to our school and gave out prizes to the people who participated. The top three people who blogged as the most, got prizes. The first place winners were Daniel and Oh Hsen. Second was Alex and AJ. The third place winners were Ofa and Eric. For all the other people who participated got a certificate. I enjoyed doing the winter learning challenge because it was a fun way to keep learning during the holidays. Thank you Rachel and her team for making the winter learning journey awesome. I look forward to the summer learning journey.

The Suffrage Movement Summary
For this task we worked collaboratively to write a 25 word summary about what the suffrage movement was. We watched a video explaining the suffrage movement. I was working with Jeremiah, Mataio and Tiava. One thing that I found interesting was that people risked their lives so that women can vote. We all contributed to this by talking to each other to decide if what we had written made sense, and if the information we had found answered our question.
