Maths - Cleanup Crew

For maths today, we were doing some geometry coordination. First of all, we had to complete four pages of reading maps. Then, we were given a piece paper with instructions and a piece of paper with a half completed dog. Our challenge was to follow the instructions to complete the dog. We then had to color the dog in. For this task, we had to remember and use the ladder rule (You can't go up and across but you can go across then up)

Mussel Harvesting

In maths we have been doing some maths problems. This week the problems we were solving involved using our times table and our division. I have worked with Jeremiah to show our learning through a DLO.

Scale Drawing

Last week I finished my scale drawing. For this task we had to find an image that we were going to enlarge by drawing it. We had to rule 1 centimetre grid over our original design. We then doubled everything and made a grid so that we could enlarge it. First we drew grid lines on an A3 paper. One thing that was hard was that we needed to make sure that we were copying the image square by square.

Flex-tangle Math

This is my flex tangle that I made. We did this because this week is maths week. LS2 started doing this on Monday. The next thing that we are creating is a hexaflexagon. I learnt how to score with scissors. One thing that I like about this flex tangle is that you could create the designs.

Galloping Greyhounds

For this task we had to make a DLO about a question that we solved for maths. Ofa and I completed this task. The task was about greyhounds and money. We had to solve how much money would a trainer make if there greyhound came first, second and third. We had clues from the photo and that helped us a lot.

It Pays To Win Math

For this task we had to solve some problems. I worked with Ofa and Mataio. We had to use our times tables knowledge to work out the answers. This task was a bit hard because we had to multiply big numbers.

Maths

For maths I played a warm up game. In this warm up game you had to order fractions from lowest to highest. I think that this is a good warm up because it is not hard but it gets your brain thinking.

Bedmas DLO

For this task I had to show bedmas. I learnt that bedmas stands for brackets, exponents, division, multiplication, addition and subtraction. I found this bedmas easy. The first thing that you have to do is brackets then exponents then multiplication and finally division.

Pizza Problem

This is my maths DLO. It is about a problem that happens in a pizza shop. Solving it was hard but with some help I understood it very well. I was working with Shannon to create this. This question was one of two questions and this is the harder one.

Maths

Today for maths I played a game called fruit splat. If you needed to practice your greatest common factor, I would recommend this game. If you want to play it click Here. Daniel and I had a competition to see who could get the highest score. Daniel Won.

Paper Plane Maths

Today for maths we finished our paper planes task. My group made the ultimate plane called Unknown 3000. Thomas was the thrower for our group and out of all the groups our plane beat everyone else. We had three throws. Our throw was 14.13. People measured the throws after they finished. I think that this was a fun activity to do. I was working with Ana, Mere, Harry, Thomas and Silivia.

Paper Planes

This is my photo collage that I have made. We did this for maths. We were making paper planes in a group and testing our prototype planes because every group has to make the ultimate plane. When our ultimate planes are finished then the groups will see who made the plane that travels far.  

Maths

LI: Solving Multiplication problems in everyday context.

Today for maths Oh Hsen and I were working together to solve the problems. We were practicing word problems for an up coming test. We had to find the equation in the word problem. It was fun solving the problems.

Care Award

This is my CARE award task I have created with Oh Hsen. This task was to create our own task. Our DLO is about decimals. I always work with Oh Hsen in math so we thought it was a good idea.

Quizizz

Today, LS2 were playing Quizizz for Maths. We were practicing our basic times tables. LS2 was competing against each other. It was fun because the teachers got involved. Every one got involved which made it more fun because there were more competitors to challenge. The highest rank I got to was 3rd. I think that Thomas was the best because he is good at maths and he was always coming first.

Maths

Today for maths I was working with Oh Hsen. We were learning to find place value in decimals. I had to change Decimals from word to numbers. I completed it with Oh Hsen today. I think that the maths I had to do was a bit hard because I am not really good working with decimals. After I finished I played Sumdog with Oh Hsen.

Mathletics

Today my maths group went and had a mathletics. It was hard for me because there were hard questions. My partner was CJ. When you got your question you had to write down the answer on a piece of paper, then you have to run across the courts and then to Mrs Donaldson. If your answer is right you get I new piece of paper and do that again. I did not like it because it was hard. Here are the results.
